Geographical range	Oriental tropics and eastwards to New Guinea, The species is most frequently taken in upper montane forest from about 1500 to over 2000m. It is also found less frequently in a range of lowland forest types: hill dipterocarp, alluvial and dry heath (kerangas) forest.
