Larvae of the colsely related G. insolitus Walker have been recorded on Liquidamber formosana (Hamamelidaceae) in Hong Kong.

Remarks

Adults have been collected at light. The larva has been found in Malaysia boring in the apical shoots of seedlings of Macaranga triloba and M. hypoleuca (Euphorbiaceae) .
